It seems a car can spawn near another car in a corner, if its from a perpendicular direction (say one car is going up or down, and the other is going left or right), but it doesnt happen a lot, and maybe only in corners. Also, saying (game allows up to 5 cars to crash during the set) would be more clear, because a crash involving 2 cars can be considered 1 car crash. Although, 5 is an odd number to allow up to, because its unlikely youd get 5 cars to crash without getting to 6. It can help for the rare chance you get a crash involving 3 cars though.

FUn little game, but as Andy said, it can be completely random if you win or lose. If a car drives near the edge, and another spawns, you have next to 0% chance to stop a crash. Given it only takes 3 crashes (1 crash has 2 cars so equals 2 crashes on the counter) Suggestion: make each collision count as 1 crash. Also make cars drive a little further fro the edge, so you at least have a small chance
