The bug is fixed, sort of. It takes you out of full screen mode now when losing. Just dont go back in full screen before clicking on play more. Separately, another idea I like for another game is what you could call level down/friendly 2048, may be one of the only times you see me suggest level downs, is when the alternative like we have here is more harsh. A level down would reduce the level by 1 and leave 1 tile that had the value needed to reach that level, placed randomly on the board. So for example leveling down to level 5 would leave a 512 tile placed randomly on the board, so you dont have to start all over (theres no universal rule that requires starting over). You could also leave 1 each of lower value tiles, but I think this isnt needed.

Second, we need a better type of 2048 game. I dont mean regular 2048 (unless maybe a shorter version of it like with no 2 or 4 tiles). I mean something else. The issue with these counter 2048 games is it trades skill for being at the mercy of luck, meaning you still may have to play a few or several times before you can make a 2048 tile, because you cant really plan placement of the tiles since the game moves them randomly, and sometimes you might merge tiles in a less than ideal way but you dont have much time to think about it before the game shifts them again. I think the Move2048 game that was like this game but let you control the direction if you wanted was a step in the right direction, but we havent seen many more games like that yet. Doesnt need to be the exact same, but something more like that.

 

Few things to say first. This is counter 2048 not just 2048. And its only fluid for mobile so otherwise it still might not shrink properly to even fit on some screens vertically, a shame. At least there is still off-centered full screen mode for that, which brings me to a bug. Losing and clicking play more in full screen mode causes the size of the tiles to bug out, getting too big and not fitting in the screen anymore. You may be able to fix it without refreshing the page, but have to go in and out of full screen possibly a few times.
